Hymn
Duration: 5 minutes
Arrangement: SATB and piano
Commissioned by the Addison Singers and dedicated to the memory of Cathy Bereznicki, Zillah has written a setting of the very beautiful poem ‘Hymn’ by Joseph Addison for first performance at the Addison Summer Concert 2019. The piece is a celebration of singing, finishing with Joseph Addison’s wonderful line, ‘Forever singing as they shine!’. This will be performed at the Addison Summer concert in West London on 13 July (details on the concerts page). The piece is part of a year of new commissions with composers Michael Berkeley and Howard Goodall also writing new pieces for the Addison Singers for their Spring and Christmas concerts.
17 Haiku for Women

Arrangement: SAA unaccompanied ladies voices
Written for a concert to mark International Women’s Day in 2018, the piece uses haiku written by women about their experiences, arranged around different stages of life. It was first performed at the Vauxhall Tea House Theatre on 8th March, 2018.
The Sea Witch

Arrangement: Wind Ensemble
A piece for contemporary dance in three movements written for 9 piece wind ensemble, collaborating with choreographer Alister Wroe and first performed in 2017 by the London Consort of Winds and danced by Sara Roisland Torsvik.
A Red, Red Rose
Duration: 3 minutes
Arrangement: SATB unaccompanied choir
Setting of Robert Burns’ famous poem by the same name written for the wedding of Sophie Rose Reid and Tim Oladapo Ogunlesi on 30th September 2017 and receiving further performances in the Isle of Man in 2018.

Series of piano miniatures inspired by photographer Matt Botwood’s atmospheric video art capturing watery reflections in a pine forest near his home in remote Wales.

Part two of a collaboration with landscape photographer Matt Botwood for solo piano and optional video. A selection of these pieces was performed at the London Composers Forum summer concert in June 2016.
Cornish Prayer

That Time of Year

Setting of Shakespeare’s very beautiful Sonnet 73. The piece was premiered by the Addison Chamber Choir on 15th October 2016.
Introspective

Shipwrecked

Arrangement: narrator and viola
Narrative-led piece about a shipwreck off the North Devon coast in 1983 and the dramatic events that ensued, first performance 27th July 2016.
